这是投资市场中很常用的用语，想像一下牛向上顶向前冲的样子，冲呀！就代表行情上涨的市场。

The bull market has boosted investor confidence. (牛市提升了投资者的信心。)

✪ bear market 熊市

相对于「牛市」，想像一下一头熊站立挥舞著牠的熊掌往下狠狠一划，如同股票的线性一路向下呀，惨呀！代表行情下跌的市场。

Experts have said that the next bear market will be more harmful to investors.
（专家表示，下一次的熊市会对投资者造成更大的伤害。）

investment portfolio （个人或机构的）投资组合

✪ bond 债券

由政府所发行的债券就叫做政府公债（government bond）。

The central bank issued government bonds to support government spending.
（中央银行发行政府公债来支撑政府花费。）

✪ stock 股票

Technology stocks fell sharply last week, but investors remained optimistic.
（科技股上周暴跌，但投资者依然持乐观态度。）

✪ share 股份

I own 200 shares of NVIDIA’s stock.
（我持有辉达股票的 200 股。）

✪ stockholder/shareholder 股东

He is this company’s biggest shareholder, owning 10 percent of the company’s shares.
（他是这间公司的最大股东，持有公司 10% 的股份。）

✪ equity 股东权益/股权

The president owns 50 percent of the shares and holds a large amount of equity in the company.
（董事长持有 50% 的股份，在公司拥有很大的股权。）

✪ fund 基金

My aunt’s job is managing funds for investors.
（我阿姨的工作是帮投资者管理基金。）

✪ securities 证券（债券、股票）

The securities market in this country has been evolving in recent years.
（这个国家的证券市场近年逐步发展。）

✪ ETF (Exchange Traded Fund，指数股票型基金)

✪ recession 衰退

The company went bankrupt during the last recession.
（这间公司在上次经济衰退期间破产了。）

✪ depression 萧条（比 recession 更严重）

The Great Depression of the 1930s was the worst worldwide economic downturn ever.
（1930 年代的经济大恐慌/大萧条是至今最严重的世界经济衰退事件。）

✪ surge 大涨

The U.S. stock market surged this week.
（美国股市这周大涨。）

✪ limit up 涨停

The stock hit the limit up after the company's impressive earnings report. (在公司令人印象深刻的收益报告后，该股票达到涨停。)

✪ limit down 跌停

The stock price hit the limit down due to the unexpected negative news. (由于意外的负面消息，该股票价格达到跌停)

✪ being played for suckers   割韭菜

这个片语的意思是被别人当作傻瓜或被人利用、欺骗。它表示某人被别人愚弄，通常是因为他们信任了不值得信任的人或被骗进了一个不利于自己的局面。

在股市中形容在股市被大户欺压的散户，因为韭菜耐寒不容易死，割了又很快重新生长，以养活采割者。「割韭菜」多用来比喻股票市场上层有权有势者(大户)压榨剥削底层民众(散户)。

They invested in the scam thinking it was a great opportunity, but they were just being played for suckers. (他们以为这是个很好的投资机会而投入了资金，但实际上他们只是被割韭菜了。)
